Machines fixed properly.
Advice given plainly.

Lanrigson I-Tech is a London computer repair and IT service company. We take in laptops, desktops and the equipment around them, find out what is actually wrong, put the diagnosis and the price in writing — and only then pick up a screwdriver.

If it cannot be fixed

Diagnosis is chargeable only when we repair. If the device is beyond economical repair, we say so and charge nothing for trying.

90 days

Workmanship warranty

Every repair carries a 90-day warranty on our labour, alongside the manufacturer's own warranty on any part we fit.

0%

Commission on hardware

We hold no vendor tier and take no referral commission. What we recommend you buy is what we would buy ourselves.

These are the terms we work to from day one, not measured performance figures. Lanrigson I-Tech was incorporated on 16 September 2025 and publishes no client counts, logos or case studies.

What we do

Six service lines, one bench discipline

Companies House records us under four SIC codes — 95110 repair of computers and peripheral equipment, 62020 IT consultancy, 47410 retail sale of computers, peripheral units and software, and 62090 other IT services. In practice that is six kinds of work, and each of them starts the same way: measure first, then act.

01

Laptop & desktop repair

The core of the workshop. Screens, hinges, keyboards, batteries, fans, power circuits, storage and board-level faults on Windows and macOS machines.

  • Screen, hinge and chassis work
  • Battery, charging and power faults
  • Thermal, fan and cleaning service

02

Data recovery & migration

Getting files off a drive that has stopped cooperating, and moving a working life onto a new machine without losing the details that matter.

  • Logical recovery from failing drives
  • Old machine → new machine transfer
  • Certified erasure before disposal

03

IT support & maintenance

Ongoing cover for small offices, studios, practices and households — the person you call when something stops working and nobody knows why.

  • Remote and on-site support
  • Patching, backup and health checks
  • Email, accounts and device setup

04

IT consultancy

Advice with nothing attached to it. What to replace and what to keep, what a system actually costs to run, and what should happen in which order.

  • Estate and cost review
  • Cloud, email and file-storage advice
  • Written recommendation, not a pitch

05

Hardware & software supply

Specifying, sourcing and configuring computers, peripherals and licensed software — delivered set up and ready for work, not in a sealed box.

  • Specification against real workload
  • Licensed software and renewals
  • Build, imaging and handover

06

Networks, backup & security

The quiet work that stops the loud emergencies: Wi-Fi that reaches, backups that restore, and accounts that are not one password away from trouble.

  • Wi-Fi, cabling and router setup
  • Backup design and restore testing
  • Accounts, MFA and device hardening

How a job runs

Nothing is opened before the price is agreed

Most bad experiences with computer repair come from the same place: work that grew after the machine was handed over. Our sequence is fixed, and the decision point sits with you, in writing, before any part is ordered.

Step 01

Book in

Email a description of the fault. We reply with what to bring, what to back up first, and a slot.

Step 02

Diagnose

Hardware tested independently of software, so the real cause is identified rather than the loudest symptom.

Step 03

Quote

Cause, parts, labour and a fixed total by email — plus the honest option of not repairing at all.

Step 04

Repair

Approved work only. If we find something further, work stops and you get a second quote.

Step 05

Test & hand back

Bench-tested under load, notes written up, warranty confirmed, and your data left exactly where you left it.

What we ask of you

  • A description of what happened, not a guess at the cause — the noise, the message, the moment it started.
  • Any password needed to boot and test the machine, so it can be verified before it goes back.
  • A backup if one exists. If one does not, tell us — recovery order changes completely.

What you get from us

  • A written diagnosis in plain English, including the parts that are fine.
  • One fixed price, valid for 14 days, with the option to decline and take the machine away.
  • The replaced parts back on request, and a note of exactly what was done.

What we handle

Ordinary equipment, treated seriously

The workshop is built around the machines people actually work on: business laptops, home desktops, all-in-ones, the printer nobody can reach on the network, the external drive that clicks. We are a general computer repair and IT service company, not a single-brand specialist, and we will tell you when a job belongs with the manufacturer instead of with us.

Work is carried out from our London base for customers across Greater London, with remote support available anywhere in the United Kingdom. Business collection and on-site visits are arranged by appointment.

Who we work with

Small enough to be looked after properly

Four kinds of customer make up most of the bench, and each of them needs a slightly different thing from the same set of skills.

i

Small businesses

Two to fifty people with no internal IT. Support cover, hardware refresh, backup that has been tested, and one number to call.

ii

Sole traders & freelancers

One machine, and the whole business on it. Fast diagnosis, honest repair-or-replace advice, and a loan of time while it is on the bench.

iii

Households & students

Family laptops, coursework, photographs, a desktop that has slowed to a crawl. Fixed prices, no jargon, no upselling.

iv

Landlords & small sites

Shared offices, studios and lettings that need working Wi-Fi, sensible networking and equipment that survives a tenancy.

Questions

Asked before a machine is handed over

Diagnosis is charged as part of the repair, so if you go ahead there is no separate diagnostic fee. If the device turns out to be beyond economical repair, or we simply cannot fix it, there is nothing to pay for the attempt. The only exception is a job that needs parts ordered purely to test a theory — and we would ask you first, in writing, before spending anything.

Diagnosis is normally complete within one to two working days of the machine arriving. After you approve the quote, a repair using parts we hold is usually same-day or next-day; anything that needs an ordered part depends on the supplier, and we give you the expected date with the quote rather than after it.

Only where the job requires it — a data recovery, a migration, or verifying that a repaired machine boots into your own account. We do not browse, copy or retain personal files, working copies made during recovery are destroyed once you confirm you have your data, and everything is handled under UK GDPR. Our privacy notice sets this out in full.

We will tell you honestly, and the answer is often "replace". A written quote always includes the repair cost set against what a comparable replacement would cost, so the decision is yours and it is made with numbers. Because we take no commission on hardware, nothing about that advice changes depending on which way you go.

Yes — SIC 47410 covers the retail supply of computers, peripheral units and software, and we specify, source and configure equipment for customers. What we will not do is carry a vendor tier or a sales target: we quote the machine that fits the workload, at the supplier's price plus a stated setup fee, and you can always buy it yourself and have us configure it instead.

The workshop is in London and we serve customers across Greater London, with on-site visits and business collection by appointment. Remote support — software faults, accounts, email, configuration — is available anywhere in the United Kingdom. If a job is better handled by someone closer to you, we will say so.

Because of how the work is structured, not because of claims we cannot yet evidence. The company is new and we do not pretend otherwise: there are no invented client counts or testimonials anywhere on this site. What we offer instead is a written diagnosis before payment, a fixed price you can decline, no charge if the repair fails, a 90-day workmanship warranty, and a registered company number you can look up.

Next step

Tell us what it is doing

One email with the make, model and the symptom is enough to start. You will have a reply within one working day, with what to bring and what to back up first.
