Everything below is bench work or advisory work carried out by Lanrigson I-Tech Limited. The order is deliberate: repair first, because that is what the company was registered to do, and supply last, because buying should be the conclusion of a conversation rather than the start of one.
Line 01 · SIC 95110
The workshop takes in Windows laptops, MacBooks, desktops, all-in-ones, mini PCs and the peripherals that live around them. A fault is treated as a hypothesis until it has been reproduced on the bench — which is why a slow machine is measured rather than simply "cleaned up", and a machine that will not start is traced to a rail rather than declared dead.
Where a job is genuinely uneconomical, we say so in the quote and set the repair price against the cost of a comparable replacement. A repair you should not buy is not a repair we want to sell.
Board-level work is offered where the fault is diagnosable and the part is obtainable. Some modern devices are sealed, glued or serialised to the point where component repair is not realistic — we will tell you that before you leave the machine, not after.

Most data loss is not dramatic. It is a drive that has begun to fail quietly, a laptop that will not boot the morning of a deadline, or a folder that went with the old machine. We work on a copy wherever the media allows it, so the recovery attempt itself never becomes the thing that finishes the drive off.
We are honest about the ceiling: this is logical and light physical recovery, not a cleanroom platter service. Where a drive needs a specialist laboratory, we will say so on the first day and help you choose one rather than experiment with your only copy.
Recovered data is handed over on media you provide or supply at cost, and our working copies are securely destroyed once you have confirmed you have everything.

For organisations small enough that IT is somebody's second job. The aim is not to be called often — it is to remove the reasons you would need to call, and to answer properly when something still goes wrong.

b
The scheduled work that prevents most incidents: updates applied, storage watched, backups verified, and warranties tracked.
c
Starters, leavers and the everyday account work that quietly becomes a security problem when nobody owns it.
Either by the hour with no commitment, or as a monthly agreement covering an agreed number of devices and users. Both are quoted in writing before they start, and the monthly agreement can be cancelled with 30 days' notice — we would rather keep customers because the work is good than because the contract is long.
We do not take over an estate we have not assessed, promise round-the-clock cover we could not staff, or bill for work that was not agreed. Where a job needs a larger managed-service provider, a specialist developer or the manufacturer's own service, saying so is part of the job.

Sometimes the question is not "can this be fixed" but "should any of this exist in its current form". Consultancy work is the same discipline applied one level up: look at what is actually running, what it costs, and what it is costing in time — then write down the options with a recommendation attached.
Because we hold no vendor tier and take no commission on anything we recommend, the advice has no second purpose. If the right answer is "change nothing this year", that is a legitimate outcome and you will still get it in writing.

We are registered for the retail sale of computers, peripheral units and software — and we treat that as a configuration service that happens to include the box. Equipment arrives specified against the work it has to do, built, updated and handed over ready.
Stage 01
Workload first: what software has to run, how many hours a day, and how long the machine has to last.
Stage 02
Supplier price plus a stated setup fee, itemised. You are always free to buy it yourself and have us build it.
Stage 03
Updated, licensed, accounts configured, data migrated, backup switched on before it leaves the bench.
Stage 04
Delivered or collected with a written record of the build, serial numbers and warranty dates.
01
Laptops, desktops, all-in-ones and mini PCs, new or refurbished, specified for the workload rather than for the margin.
02
Monitors, docks, keyboards, printers, storage, NAS units, routers, UPS and the cabling that makes a desk usable.
03
Licensed operating systems, productivity and security software, with renewal dates recorded so nothing lapses quietly.
Refurbished equipment is always described as refurbished, with its grade, battery health and remaining warranty stated in the quote.

A backup that has never been restored is not a backup, and a network that works from one desk is not a network. This line covers the infrastructure that only gets noticed when it fails, which is exactly why it is worth doing deliberately.
Security here means the practical layer a small organisation can actually maintain: accounts protected properly, devices encrypted and patched, a backup you have watched come back, and a written note of who has access to what. We are not a penetration testing or compliance-certification firm, and we will point you to one when that is what you need.
Next step
Describe it in ordinary words and we will place it — including telling you when the answer is somebody other than us.
